Adams County Community Support – Voices on the Ground
"CCA is up and running in Natchez, Adams County. I can only tell you that they have had a very positive impact on our community. They have been active in our community, have purchased from our local vendors and when at full capacity, will employ approximately four hundred personnel at their facility along with paying into the county approximately 1.3 million in taxes annually. They constructed a first class state of the art facility second to none. I feel CCA would have a very positive impact on your community which is by the way, recession proof! Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future."

Enhancing Economic and Community Impact in Mississippi
With Adams County Correctional Center, CCA brings:
More than 400 careers
Many new employees are expected to hail from southwest Mississippi, strengthening the economic vitality of the area and contributing to the overall fiscal viability of the state. Governor Barbour lauds these jobs created in Adams County.
Millions in taxes and utility payments
CCA is expected to pay $1.8 million in utilities and $1.2 million in taxes annually from the Adams County project. These dollars can help offset important taxpayer priorities, like education, health care, infrastructure and other public needs.
Payroll in the millions
Once fully staffed, CCA will be one of the largest employers in the county. Millions in annual payroll will infuse local businesses and government with dollars that will turn over multiple times in the community, fortifying the economic base.
In 2007, CCA paid approximately $585,000 in property taxes in Mississippi, where the company’s combined payroll in the state tops $22 million. CCA safely and securely houses state inmates for Mississippi at a cost savings that enables the state to realize other public priorities. CCA also works with local vendors for many of the goods and services needed to operate facilities, from medical services to office supplies.
CCA’s Long-Standing Partnership with Mississippi
CCA has partnered with Mississippi for more than a decade. Currently, the company operates three correctional facilities in Mississippi – Delta Correctional Facility in Greenwood, Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler and Wilkinson County Correctional Facility in Woodville.
Two of the facilities – the 1,200-bed Delta Correctional Facility and the 1,024-bed Wilkinson County Correctional Facility – are managed by CCA on behalf of the Mississippi Department of Corrections to house state and local inmates.
The 1,104-bed Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility is owned and operated by CCA and currently houses state inmates for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as well as local inmates for Tallahatchie County.
