CCA Partnership with the State of Hawaii
For more than 25 years, CCA has designed, built, operated and managed prisons, jails and detention facilities in partnership with government. Federal, state and county partners choose CCA for the oversight and accountability of government with the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of business.
CCA was the first company to make public-private partnership in corrections possible for government agencies. They needed answers to outdated and overcrowded facilities. They required immediate options for tight corrections budgets. They had to protect communities and families at all times. They needed funds for schools, roads, parks, hospitals and other public services.
For more than a decade, CCA has been the partnership corrections provider of choice for the state of Hawaii. Placing Hawaii inmates at mainland CCA facilities has provided many benefits.
Inmates are housed in new, modern correctional facilities. They participate in cultural activities. They are enrolled in meaningful rehabilitation programs staffed by well-trained, dedicated counselors and teachers. And Hawaii taxpayers are saving millions.
Here, you’ll see how public-private partnership in corrections is making the most of Hawaii’s public dollars and changing inmates’ lives, one day at a time.
